Rules and Regulations: Entry forms are required for each participating organization Formation area for all units will be at the Monrovia High School Parking lot off of State Road 39 Entrance #3. o Please note there is only one way in to the parking lot. For safety reasons, moving of the barricades or gates is not permitted and will be cause for removal of eligibility to participate in the parade. Each unit entering must have signage on both side of the vehicle with the name of the organization listed. All bands are to be in uniform and have a banner showing name. Each band will stop to play at the viewing stand Please ensure that you follow the signs and stop at the check in point to verify registration and receive the number marking for your party. The units entering the competition must be in place by 2pm when the judging starts. Monrovia Fire Department, Police Department, and all Military personnel will be lined up in a designated area. All units must be in place no later than 2:15 pm. Grand Marshall will review the parade route @2:45. First units will enter the parade @ approximately 3pm. Weather could delay this start, so please be patient and listen for instructions from the Festival Committee Volunteers. Competitions Categories Grand Marshall Trophy – This will be given for floats that have not been professionally built. 1st and 2nd place trophy presented Director’s Trophy – This will be given units entering for youth group up to 12th grade including 4H, scouts, youth sports, Church organizations, etc. All entries will be judged on originality. 1st and 2nd place trophy presented Presidents Trophy – This will be given to one group based on the overall entry ATTENTION Nothing is to be thrown during the parade. Candy can be tossed under hand at the feet of the crowd or walked to the crowd to be handed out. Harsh and severe throwing of items into the crowd is cause for disqualification of that organization and they will not be permitted the participate the following year/s. For your convenience, Port-a-pots will be available in the High School and Middle School parking lots as there will be no access to the school during this time. Burn outs and wheelies are not permitted. Any vehicle that is seen doing this will immediately be asked to leave the parade NO EXCEPTIONS! Vehicles include but are not limited to: ATV, Dirt Bike, Motorcycle, Cars, etc. Only vehicles participating in the parade will be permitted in the Middle School parking lot. Gate#1 to the Middle School/Elementary School parking lot will be closed but you can pull up to the gate to drop off participants.
